WHAT IS A SUPER SAFETY???

The Super Safety Trigger System refers to an advanced combination of an upgraded safety selector and a precision trigger, typically designed for AR-style rifles. This system is aimed at improving the overall functionality, responsiveness, and safety of the firearm. Here’s a breakdown of what a super safety trigger system generally entails:

  1. Enhanced Trigger

Light and Crisp Pull: The trigger in these systems usually has a much lighter pull weight compared to the standard mil-spec trigger. The break is often described as "crisp," meaning there is little to no creep or over-travel after the trigger is pulled.

Reduced Trigger Reset: The trigger reset is shorter, allowing the shooter to fire quicker follow-up shots with minimal movement. This is a significant benefit in tactical or competitive environments.

Modular Designs: Many super safety trigger systems are modular and can be installed or swapped easily without needing extensive gunsmithing.

  2. Super Safety Selector

Ambidextrous: These systems usually feature an ambidextrous safety selector, allowing for manipulation with either hand, which is particularly useful for left-handed shooters or during dynamic shooting situations.

Short Throw: The safety selector often has a reduced rotation angle, such as a 45-degree throw, instead of the traditional 90 degrees. This makes engaging or disengaging the safety quicker and more intuitive.

Ergonomic Design: The safety selector levers are typically ergonomically designed and sometimes feature textured surfaces or extended paddles for better grip, even in stressful conditions or while wearing gloves.

  3. Safety Integration

Fail-Safe Mechanisms: Some systems integrate fail-safe features to ensure the firearm won’t fire unless the safety is fully disengaged, adding an extra layer of reliability.
Tactile Feedback: The system provides more pronounced tactile or audible feedback, giving the shooter confidence in knowing when the safety is engaged or disengaged.

  4. Material and Durability

High-Grade Materials: This system is constructed from high-quality 4140 steel for the trigger and D2 Tool Steel for the Cam and Lever. Cam and lever are DLC coated. Diamond-like carbon (DLC) is an exceptionally strong coating, similar to Cerakote, but with a key advantage: it offers inherent lubricity. This makes DLC ideal for firearm components exposed to constant friction, such as bolts, triggers, and barrels. Unlike Cerakote, DLC is applied in a micron-thin layer, making it perfect for internal parts where precision and tight tolerances are crucial.

  5. Benefits of a Super Safety Trigger System:

Speed: Faster transition between safe and fire modes due to shorter throw selectors and crisper triggers.

Precision: Increased accuracy with a finely tuned trigger that breaks cleanly and resets quickly.

Reliability: Enhanced safety mechanisms reduce the chance of accidental discharges or malfunctions.

Customization: Many systems offer adjustable trigger pull weights or modular components, allowing for a highly personalized shooting experience.

This combination is particularly favored by competitive shooters, law enforcement, and military users who demand precision, reliability, and rapid response in their firearms.

Please note: May not work in the following lower receivers:

  • Colt - May have a bar in the lower designed to prevent “certain FA” parts from going in the lower.

Please note: Requires full-auto rated bold carrier (Most modern ARs come with a full-auto bolt carrier installed)
